Report of the C-level ESG Risk Roundtable
Global Survey of Nature Risk Management at Financial Firms
GARP conducted a global study of financial risk management. The report provides an overview of current risk management practices and helps firms prioritize areas for improvement.
Key findings:
- Almost half of the boards in the sample have oversight of nature-related risks and opportunities, with the majority of remaining firms working or intending to work on it.
- Natural risk is relatively new to many firms and the level of expertise is much lower than climate risk, with over 40% of firms currently still investigating whether it should be treated as a risk at all.
- Only 17% of companies use metrics, targets or limits to assess nature-related risk factors, with another 13% already implementing them.
